Jessie Unterhalter and Katey Truhn are a Baltimore-based artist team working to transform public spaces into playful and vibrant experiences, according to a description of the event. Since 2011, they've created large-scale public murals around the world.
Posted — UpdatedNorth Hills is offering a chance for artists - as young as 10 - to help out with the creation of a new mural at the north Raleigh center.
At North Hills, they'll be setting up on the sidewalk between Mura and Anthropologie starting on Friday. The public can ask them questions and watch them through Monday as they work to complete the mural. And, on Sunday morning, they are asking for the public to come out and help them complete it.
North Hills' Paint Day is 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., Sunday, July 23. Artists ages 10 and up can sign up for a one-hour time slot to help paint the permanent "carpet mural." Each time slot can accommodate no more than 10 students.
Time slots are 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. It is free to participate.
It will be a busy weekend for North Hills. This weekend also is its popular sidewalk sale.
