North Carolina police investigate 2 more shooting deaths

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police in North Carolina's largest city are investigating two shooting deaths.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police spokeswoman Cindy Wallace said in a news release the first shooting was reported around 7:20 p.m. Thursday.
Wallace said officers found 25-year-old Jamario Lacatria McNeely dead. A man at the scene who talked with officers has now been charged with murder. He is 29-year-old George Fernandez. It was not known if Fernandez has an attorney.
A second shooting was reported around 2 a.m. Friday.
Officers found a man and woman. Twenty-three-year-old Joshua Duckworth was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening. Her name has not been released.
No arrests have been made in the second shooting.
