No updates on missing Bragg soldier one year later

Posted April 14, 2013

— The one-year anniversary of the disappearance of a Fort Bragg soldier has come and gone with no new information about what happened to her.

Kelli Bordeaux, 23, was last seen leaving the Froggy Bottoms bar in Fayetteville on April 13, 2012.

Police said two text messages were sent from Bordeaux's phone after she left, including one that said she had arrived home. Investigators have said they don't believe Bordeaux sent that one.

She was reported missing April 16, 2012, when she didn't report to work.

Her sister, Olivia Cox, pleaded Sunday for any tips that could help find Bordeaux.

"Somebody had to have seen something," Cox said. "It's a year later, you're carrying the weight of that knowledge. It's got to be heavy – just come forward and, you know, tell police, and give us answers. We need to bring Kelli home."

didn't she leave the bar with a man she sort of knew but not really, who lived behind the bar and was a sex offender? Kind of a big detail to leave out of the story. == comment

that is what NPR was reporting, left with known (to others) sex offender. He was the last known person to see her.

Law enforcement does collaborate sometimes. I'm afraid that they've given too much attention to the man she left the bar with and not enough to the possibility that someone else (maybe the husband) might have done something to her and taken her far out of the area. As much searching as all the volunteers have done in the area near where she was last seen, if she was there I feel like they would have found her. People were going out every single weekend and searching for hours.

Someone refresh my memory if I'm incorrect, but didn't she leave the bar with a man she sort of knew but not really, who lived behind the bar and was a sex offender? Kind of a big detail to leave out of the story.

Just how would the investigators go about searching between Fayetteville and Florida? That's quite a bit of territory!

so sad that something hasn't come up with this girl.

I really feel like they should be searching between here and Florida for this poor girl. I hoped that I was wrong and that she might turn up safe somewhere, but that does not seem to be the case.
