FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — No injuries were reported Tuesday night in a standoff at a home in the 300 block of Hinsdale Avenue in Fayetteville, police said.

Officers responded to the home at about 10:30 p.m. in reference to a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they heard a single gunshot.

Members of the police department's Crisis Negotiator's Team responded and were able to make contact with the people inside the home. A short time later, two females came outside the house and said that a man was still inside.

Negotiators learned that the man was not injured and that the single gunshot had been accidental. The females agreed to stay the night Tuesday at another home, and authorities left the scene.

No charges have been filed in the incident. Anyone with information should call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
