No charges in death of Wilson teen
Wilson police have decided not to file charges in the death of Devonta Maykell Carpenter , 13, Saturday.

WILSON, N.C. — Wilson police have decided not to file charges in the death of Devonta Maykell Carpenter , 13, Saturday.
Investigators ruled that the shooting was accidental. They believe the teen was handling a gun when the accident occured.
Officers found Devonta Maykell Carpenter at his grandmother's house at 1106 Churchill Ave. around 4:50 p.m. Saturday. He had been shot in the chest and was transported to Wilson Medical Center, where he died.
