FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police said Thursday that they don't plan to charge a woman who plowed a car into the front of a Division of Motor Vehicles office in Fayetteville.

Annie Gore, 77, said she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake as she pulled into a parking space outside the DMV office at 841 Elm St. on Wednesday as she completed her driving test.

Her 2008 Acura crashed into the front of the building, causing about $5,000 in damage, police said.

Several people were inside the DMV office at the time, and four people were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
