Nine displaced after fire at Raleigh duplex

Raleigh firefighters respond to a fire at a duplex, at 2512 New Home Church Road, on June 18, 2014.

— Nine people are without a home after a fire ripped through a Raleigh duplex early Wednesday.

Firefighters responded to 2512 New Hope Church Road around 1 a.m., where they saw smoke coming from the two-story building.

No one was injured.

The fire was contained in a room on the second floor and was under control in less than 30 minutes, authorities said

Investigators believe the cause of the fire was accidental.

    ever heard of night shift????? While doubtful, it IS possible they were cooking food at that hour.....just sayin

    Thank a fire fighter for a quick response. That's a lot of people, 9, to go out into the night. "Cause of the fire was accidental" leaves out the real reason...was it smoking, drinking, or smoking and drinking, or candles. I doubt anyone was frying chicken that time of night. The Red Cross should get motel discounts. There's been a lot of displacing fires int he last year.

    So, did the "fire rip through the duplex" or was it "contained in a room on the second floor"?? Those 2 statements seem contradictory to me.
