ConAgra explosion claims fourth victim
A spokesman for the Jaycee Burn Center at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill said Monday that 55-year-old Curtis Ray Poppe died last Thursday, five months after the blast at the ConAgra plant in Garner.

Cary to delay fines while case winds through courts
The Town of Cary agreed Monday to suspend fines against a man who painted a large message on his Maynard Road home while the courts decide whether he has the right to do so.

Johnston County turkey to get presidential pardon
President Barack Obama will give a presidential pardon to Courage, of Princeton, on Wednesday in an annual ceremony in the Rose Garden. An alternate turkey, Carolina, will be on stand-by in case Courage is unable to perform his duties.
