— North Carolina's latest national basketball champions visited Gov. Beverly Perdue Wednesday afternoon.

The Duke University men's basketball team is invited to the Executive Mansion in Raleigh at 2:30 p.m. to meet Perdue and be recognized for winning this year's NCAA title.

The Blue Devils edged Butler 61-59 in the national championship game in Indianapolis.

Perdue honored the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill a year ago when the Tar Heels beat Michigan State for the national championship.

Time is money. The state of NC says their in finacial crisis. Were cutting teachers, secretaries, and yet the gov can honour a ballteam. What priorities and hipocrisy.

WP-you are exactly right. They would be better off in a study hall than in her Office. They are quite competent at what they do-why hang with her?? She's just their opposite-a clueless blond!!

I'm certainly happy that Duke won the title. But, what is the honor of visiting our Bev Governor? She hasn't done much up there since she arrived. Just another photo opp. Hope she is a one termer. I am also glad that I am retired.

-Ok UNC earned its NCAA title, last year. Duke was hand given the title, by the NCAA. There road to the final four was a joke. Who did they play worthy anything...

    UNC: beat seeds 16, 8, 4, 2, 3, 2
    Duke: beat seeds 16, 8, 4, 3, 2, 5
Looks pretty close to me. How was that hand given NIT title? Oh wait, they couldn't even win that.

Can't imagine that this nitwit governor even knows who won the tournament, much less how to honor them for their WELL-DESERVED and EARNED win of the 2010 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament...........GO Dookies!

Wow! Does everyone have to be so negative and political all the time? Can't we just congratulate these kids and move on with our lives?
