GREENEVILLE, TENN. — An Indiana man whose likeness was flashed across electronic billboards in eight states has entered guilty pleas to more robbery and weapons charges in Tennessee.

The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee said in a news release that 38-year-old Chad Schaffner of Indianapolis pleaded guilty Wednesday in Greeneville to 11 robbery counts, most of which involved banks. He also pleaded guilty to using a gun in the robberies.

The plea agreements came three months after Schaffner entered guilty pleas to two Tennessee bank robberies that occurred in August.

Schaffner was captured in Kingdom City, Mo., in September, two weeks after the FBI began posting bank surveillance photos of robberies.

The Wednesday pleas included the May 15 robbery of the U.S. Credit Union in Fletcher, the July 6 robbery of a Lumbee Guaranty Bank in Fayetteville, the July 15 robbery of a Southern Bank in Edenton and the July 29 robbery of a First Citizens Bank in Hendersonville, as well as hold-ups in South Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois.

Sentencing was set for Dec. 8.
