Drugs found at Durham home day care

Durham police say they found cocaine and guns when they raided a home day care Tuesday.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police said they found cocaine and guns when they raided a home day care Tuesday.

Officers say they found 301 grams of cocaine and two guns when they raided the home at 308 Pearson Drive Tuesday morning. A 2-year-old and a 13-month-old were in the day care at the time of the raid, police said.

The operator of the day care, Agostina Mabel Pomiro, 25, was charged with cocaine trafficking, possession of cocaine with the intent to sell, maintaining a dwelling for the sale or delivery of controlled substances, misdemeanor child abuse and possessing a controlled substance on a day care property.

Pomiro is the mother of the 13-month-old, police said.

Victor Antonio Garcia, 20, of the same address, was charged with four counts of cocaine trafficking, three counts of possession of cocaine with the intent to sell, maintaining a dwelling for the sale or delivery of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor child abuse and selling a controlled substance on a day care property.

Both were being held at the Durham County jail. It was unclear if they had attorneys.
