Appalachian St. 4, Furman 2

Andrew Franco hit a two-run triple with two out in sixth inning to boost Appalachian State to a 4-2 win over Furman.

Appalachian (29-23, 13-11 SoCon) also had a run and an RBI from David Towarnicky.

Furman (29-20, 15-9 SoCon) broke its school-record 13-game winning streak. Furman was ahead 2-0 through 4 1/2 innings on home runs by Marcus Rose and Joey Rodgers.

The Mountaineers rallied in the bottom of the fifth inning on a RBI double by Wes Hobson.
