RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh attorney who runs one of the largest divorce law firms in the state has been censured by the North Carolina State Bar for billing and representation practices at his firm.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Friday that Lee S. Rosen was censured by the bar's Grievance Committee after the agency received three complaints. The censure doesn't affect Rosen's license to practice law.
Rosen was criticized for, among other things, agreeing to represent a woman knowing she lived in a county where Rosen Law Firm did not practice. The bar also said he did initial consultations with people only to represent their estranged spouses later.
Rosen said the censures were the bar's way of clarifying his office's business model. He said his firm prides itself in offering fixed prices rather than traditional hourly billing.
