Raleigh, N.C. — Gov. Bev Perdue signed 38 bills into law on July 12, including the following:
- S 105, which increases the penalties for some first- and second-degree murders and for those who kill while driving drunk.
- S 635, which allows juveniles convicted of first degree murder seek parole after 25 years in prison.
- H 462, which prohibits cities and counties from using contingency contracts to find those who owe them taxes or fees.
- S 910, which makes the sales of a minor a felony offense.
There are 20 bills remaining on her desk.
