A section of the wall surrounding the N.C. Executive Mansion was spray-painted with graffiti on June 5-6, 2012.

A section of the wall surrounding the Executive Mansion was spray-painted with graffiti overnight.

Gov. Beverly Perdue's security detail discovered the vandalism along Jones Street at about 8 a.m., and a prison inmate crew spent much of the morning cleaning and covering it up.

By the time a WRAL News photographer was able to get a shot of the graffiti, it was difficult to decipher what, if any, message it conveyed.

No arrests have been made.
