Former Perdue campaign fundraiser and finance director Peter Reichard will appear in Wake Co. Superior Court Wednesday afternoon, where he's expected to plead guilty to a charge related to campaign finance.

Reichard was indicted last month on one felony count of obstruction of justice. He's accused of funneling about $32,000 from a Perdue donor through his Chapel Hill finance firm to increase the salary of campaign staffer Juleigh Sitton, who was also indicted by the grand jury last month.

Reichard's attorney Hart Miles wouldn't offer any further details about Wednesday's appearance, except to say that "We expect and hope to resolve it then."

Miles confirmed that he and Reichard "have been in talks with Mr. Willoughby."

Willoughby could not comment on the possible disposition of the case.  He told WRAL the hearings for Sitton and longtime Perdue friend Buzzy Stubbs, also indicted, will be delayed because the prosecution just handed over 10,000 pages of discovery to them.

The case of another donor indicted earlier this year, Robert Lee Caldwell, is also expected to be delayed until 2012 because Caldwell recently changed attorneys.
