Perdue holds NASCAR fundraiser

Posted October 7, 2011

Gov. Bev Perdue will be raising money next week in the backyard of her presumed 2012 opponent, former Charlotte mayor Pat McCrory.

The campaign fundraiser is an infield party at Charlotte Motor Speedway next Thursday. It's "Bojangles' Pole Night," the qualifying runs for the Bank of America 500 NASCAR race on Saturday.

For just $99, donors can nosh on a buffet and enjoy "VIP access" to the infield party.

But Bojangles' night notwithstanding, shorts and flip-flops won't be allowed. The invite specifies guests must wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and no sleeveless shirts.

Not even if she was paying $99. and free Bojangles.

I'd be cool with her doing this if she wasn't a democrat.....it was hunky-dory when Bush held voter registration drives to get the NASCAR DAD vote....but that was DIFFERENT, of course. ;)

I am considering moving to SC with all the jobs we seem to keep creating there. Thank you our fearless leaders for your continual support of the broke and downtroden in NC. We dont want to work anyway we just love having Phil Berger run his ever loving mouth on how sorry the unemployed are.

She chose a NASCAR event because she can identify with the recurring need to turn "left".

Well let's see....Boeing is near coming to Charleston, A new Continental Tire Plant is being built in Sumter, A huge addition to a Brigestone Plant in Aiken...all in South Carolina of course. But here, our fearless governor wants to do a fundraiser at a NASCAR event, and is worried about people wearing flip flops. Sweet! Maybe she can get someone to build a flip floop plant here. WOW!
