State House lawmakers Wednesday night defeated a proposal to create benefit corporations in North Carolina.
A House committee gave its blessing today to the latest version of a bill intended to protect the constitutional rights of North Carolinians from "foreign laws."
A new version of Senate Bill 10, the bill revamping state boards and commissions, will be filed as a Rules bill after the House voted down the conference report.
Legislation allowing concealed weapons on college campuses, state property, greenways and bike trails, at sporting events and in businesses that serve alcohol received final approval from the state House Tuesday.
A rift between top House leaders was on display Monday night as a bill allowing taxpayers to sue over taxes and spending is referred to the Finance Committee over the objections of House Speaker Pro Tempore Paul "Skip" Stam.
