Lawmakers
Bills that are subject to crossover and don't make the deadline are considered "dead" for the rest of the two-year session. But state lawmakers have come up with plenty of ways to resurrect them.
A bill approved Wednesday in the House would put a constitutional amendment on the ballot calling for term limits for House and Senate leaders.
State House lawmakers voted unanimously Monday night to add a frog, amphibian, marsupial, fossil, folk art, and art medium to the list of the state's official symbols.
Days after his party leadership shot down his proposal to freeze and repeal the state's renewable energy standards, Rep. Mike Hager, R-Rutherford, is making a second run at moving the bill to the House floor.
Senate rules forbid roll call votes in committees, but a show of hands is allowed.
