Hey hey! It's time for your early summer North Carolina State Fair 2009 update. It's never too early to be thinking about the Fair. And today the Fair folks announced some big news....
... the 2009 theme! This year it's "A Whole Lotta Happy". A whole lotta happy WHAT, you may ask. So did I. Apparently that's up to you. Go to the Fair and fill in the blank, I guess. There's a fun announcement video for the new theme at YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXb0HmImxSY). It features Steve Troxler, in a suit, with a chicken in his lap. There are also various Fair folks talking about the new theme but they're a little hard to hear over the steel drums.
The Fair blog now has a new home at http://info.ncagr.com/DeepFried/. (Confidential to whoever designed the header: terrific!) It's still a little early for event news but the blog does have a couple notes about other fairs arond the state as well as the upcoming festival at the end of May.
And what about the Web site for the Fair itself? It's not quite ready yet. I am told it should be up in a couple of weeks. In the meantime keep an eye on the blog (and on the very busy Twitter account at http://twitter.com/ncstatefair.) Just a little over five months...!
