Fun Houses With a Surprise Outside

Have you caught the jokes on the funhouses?

An Outside Inside Joke
While I was at the Fair I looked all over the place for Pan's House of Fun, which I saw at the Dixie Classic Fair. This funhouse had little inside jokes on the paintings outside, and I was looking forward to seeing it again and taking more pictures.

Alas, I didn't find it. But I did find, while looking closely at the funhouses and other attractions at the Fair, that there were several that had small inside jokes painted on the exterior.

My favorite one was on the Cuckoo Haus on the new midway. There's a picture there of a German general pouring a glass of wine for a blue person. For some reason I always assumed that person was a smurf. Looking closely at the bottle, however, I see that he's pouring "Ein Blau None". Since the German for Nun is "Nonne", I'm guessing that it's a blue nun getting some Blue Nun. (And if you're wondering, the book the nun is sitting on reads "Who Cares?")

Other funhouses featured Noam Chimpsky, an Office of the Ship's Cat, and singing bread sensation Engelbert Pumpernickel. Check out my little set of Funhouse Easter Eggs at Flickr. How many of these did you spot?
