How nice it is to go to the Fairgrounds and actually be a little chilly. The air is crisp, you actually feel like you need a sweater -- autumn apparently rolled with Powers Midway. Wonder if they brought any rain?

A few thoughts on Thursday evening to go with the few photos I put up on Flickr.
1) While setting up in the Education Building, exhibitors got a concert from the security guard, who plays a mean acoustic guitar. Not a bad singer either.
2) I realized the special Fair smell comes in layers, and that it works best when there's a little chill in the air.
3) The judging is over for the Seriously Twisted Animal competition, but you can still vote for the People's Choice Award. Get more details, including a gallery of animals, at http://www.farmanimalfrenzy.com/ .
