World's Largest Candied Apple

Posted Updated

Hey, you thought the candied apples at the Fair were huge. Apparently chef Bill Yosses and SPLENDA have teamed up to create the world's largest candied apple today in New York City's Bryant Park. Their apple will be 15 feet tall and 12 feet in diameter.

That's over 10,000 apples, 100 gallons of candy-coating, and 800 pounds of SPLENDA, for a creation that'll weigh over one-and-a-half tons. Details in this SPLENDA press release with a couple of pictures and some video here. Perhaps it's just as well that this isn't at the Fair... I'd hate to have to taste-test it...
