An 82nd Airborne paratrooper wanted for murder in Ohio was shot and killed by police early Friday, the U.S. Army said.

Investigators were looking for Pfc. Juvon Williams, 19, of Columbus, Ohio, after police found his girlfriend's body in the trunk of a car Thursday evening.

The Army did not release further details but said the matter is under investigation.

Williams was an AH-64 Apache helicopter repairman with Company D, 1st Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade.

He joined the Army last year and was assigned to Fort Bragg in March.
