The man charged with stabbing a Fuquay-Varina teen to death over the weekend is in the U.S. illegally, authorities said Wednesday.

Gabriel Alejandro Maricio Lopez, 20, of 600 Church St., and Alejanero Prada Sanchez, 19, of 307 Linwood St., Apt. 23, are charged with murder in the death of Patricia Perez, 15.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on Lopez after determining that he entered the country illegally, authorities said. No detainer has been placed on Sanchez.

Perez and Lopez were dating, and authorities said they believe Lopez stabbed her to death after an argument. Sanchez witnessed the stabbing, authorities said.

Fishermen found Perez's body early Saturday near a fishing ramp off Farrington Road about one mile north of U.S. Highway 64.

Both men are being held without bond in the Chatham County jail.

There would be a 15 year old walking around if she hadn't "dated" this guy. Oh, the glamor of an older man.

When will people wake up and realize that when we allow illegals to remain in this country (and to come here in the first place), that the illegals have nothing to lose, so committing crimes and giving false names, etc, is something they're going to do and get away with. If we deport this guy, he will come right back. Instead, let's use our tax dollars to put him behind bars where he can't get out and do it again. We can't count on the govt to keep him out of the country, clearly.

A girl is dead and all you are worried about is that he was not legal..... Newflash their are lots of home grown americans who are bad to.

Guess who have most of all the local, state construction jobs that Obama wants to give more stimulus money to. Look around you this country does not care about the employment of US born citizen’s whose father or mother was born here. Who works on the roads, building, landscape, fast foods, now who pays the taxes for the social service give always? (EBT, Housing, Wick, medical, birth, education, etc. stop the madness send them home. NOGALES, Ariz. — An American immigration agent bounded up the steps of a bus about to cross the United States-Mexico border recently and demanded to see the papers of all those aboard. “Papers!” he shouted, eyeing passengers warily as he walked up and down the aisle. Such checks are not surprising given all the attention focused on illegal immigration these days. But this bus full of migrants was leaving the United States, not entering it.

Are we to think that since the Sanchez witness the crime he will be given immunity to deportation or his immigration status will not be checked? Will Mexico and the ACLU and the president of this country stop Lopez from being put to death?
