Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County investigators were searching Friday for thieves who stole a $35,000 commercial trailer this week, saying they believe the rig was taken so it could be chopped up and sold as scrap metal.
The thieves stole the 48-foot-long aluminum trailer off the property of ICAN Inc., at 1049 S. Eastern Blvd., sometime Wednesday or Thursday, authorities said.
ICAN is offering a $2,500 reward for anyone who can identify the thieves and help solve the crime, authorities said.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS.

Don't count it. Scrap Yards are like pawn shops...don't ask questions. Probably over half of the stuff is stolen, the police know it, and they don't do anything about it.
