Suspected dogfighting operation raided in Pamlico County

print friendly

Pamlico County authorities seized 17 dogs from a suspected dogfighting operation just outside of New Bern on Thursday.

In the raid on 5748 Florence Road, authorities found suspected dogfighting paraphernalia and many of the dogs had scars consistent with dogfighting.

The Human Society's Animal Rescue Team safely removed the dogs from the property and transported them to an undisclosed location.

The raid was the result of a three-year investigation by the Pamlico County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of Pamlico County Animal Control and The Humane Society.

No charges have been filed.

Another dog cruelty story - that is 3 on WRAL today. What is going on????

Why haven't charges been file??? WHO does this land belong to???? NO EXCUSE for this being Allowed. NONE Beth

Had this been a child abuse case would it have taken them three years to do their invesitgation. I sure hope not.

All the members of the Pamlico County Sheriff's Office should be fired. What possible reason would cause an investigation to take three years except pure incompetence.

Its 53 miles from New Bern, don't know how you can say its just out side of New Bern. Hello
