No...I would not be cracking jokes. I would be wondering why they unlocked the door to let this very sick woman out to even do such a thing to a 5 year old child, a baby.

Any woman that thinks that was a joke to play on a child is very mixed up in the head. And does need some professional counseling.

I'm with you njb1955.....how many more children have suffered at this man's hand in 2 years? And as to why it took so long to bring charges on this guy; well, the young boy he abused first probably was too ashamed to tell and admit to what he had done(running naked). Some children it takes a few years (or even 30yrs) to report abuse done to them. Some are not sure if it is abuse at first; that maybe they did something to bring this on to themselves. Then they find out a year or two later that they are not the bad person that they once thought for this bad thing happening to them, so, they tell.

As to where was the mother? Cleaning, cooking, working; pick one. The important thing is she reported it as soon as 'she' heard about it. That's all she can do. And be there for her child.

If the mother notified authorities after she was told about the abuse in 2009, why are charges just now being pressed against this guy?

It does not say that the boy told his mother in 2009...it says the abuse occured in 2009. FYI The child might not have told his mother until last week.......
