— A 16-year-old from Raleigh was killed in a shooting in the 2800 block of Poole Road around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Authorities believe he knew at least one of the men. No arrests have been made.

Following the shooting, one of Johnson's friends called 911.

“They shot him. They were screaming and I ran,” the caller said.

Poole Road was closed until about 6 a.m. as investigators collected evidence.

Anyone with information about the shooting that might help investigators is asked to call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that solve crimes.

No Curfew, Thank the ACLU, Times are bad, so just think if it was like back in 1929 and the Great depression, could you just imagine if there were NO Unemployment, Welfare, Food Stamps ,and Social security, you would be Afraid to go Shopping and pull out a $20.00 Dollar Bill.

Don't worry, Beverly and Barrack will get us out of this mess.

Got to VETO, if things start looking good ,than I won't win,I mean (STEAL) the next Election.

3 out of 5 top stories today are homicides WOW!!! How many more same day in N.C? How many more in the U.S?

Woe can anyone in their right mind, not feel that crime in the U.S.A should be on top of the PRIORITY list, instead of: Libya,Iraq, Afgahnistan,Yemen, Haiti, Greece, Syria, ETC, ETC.

This once great republic is on a downward spiral, and Nero(Obama) is fiddling away. Crime, Unemployment, Illegals, Home foreclosure, Infrastructure, Natural disasters, Mounting Debt, Bank closings, massive street gangs, overloaded prisons, food banks being depleted. Wake up America, take care of HOME first, before we spend another nickel out of our country, or wqe will be on the outside looking in!!!

widcat.....when is a kid, no longer a kid that they should NOT be in prison???? Is it by age, by crime or never???

Have you ever had a crime committed against you or your family???

I have! My fiancee was gang raped in broad daylight by Youths in front of her house in a middle-class section of town

If they were looking to kill this kid, wouldn't matter if there was a curfew or not, they'd find him.

  • Coach K is still GREAT Jun 24, 2:32 p.m.

    My condolences to his family.

    sammyg,

Crime increases when unemployment is higher. Teenagers have been hit the hardest by the recession.

    Ignore Report abuse

Issy... I truly doubt this was over a teenager being hit by the recession... based on all the shootings in the past couple of days... I'm wondering if all of these are related... gang related.

This is starting to remind me of the DC sniper all over again... I really think that we ALL need to keep our eyes open, who ever is involved with these shootings... I'm sure they're sitting back laughing at all the panic this has created... I hope they are caught very soon. I guess it's time for me to bring out Mr. Smith and Wesson .357 even for a simple ride to the store...

As a teacher, I can tell you definitely that teens, adolescents are so much more immature (and insecure that they cover with bravado). They don't stop to think once or twice about the ramifications of their actions, their words, their associations, etc. It is really sad. And I can add this, many of them don't care about others' lives and don't even care if they live or die.

"RALEIGH SHOULD GO AHEAD AND IMPLEMENT A CURFEW." wildcat

No, parents should put their big-kid pants on and put on a curfew as they see fit. Not every 16 year old is the same. I was well behaved at 16 and I didn't need the city to tell me when to go home.

I do if they deserve it. I don't want them walking the streets with me.
