Police closed Green Level Church Road for a few hours Wednesday as firefighters battled a house fire that authorities said was fueled by pool-cleaning chemicals.

The fire started in a detached garage at 8712 Green Level Church Road shortly before 11 a.m. The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes.

No one was in the home at the time, and no injuries were reported, officials said.

Green Level Church Road was closed at Mills Road until about 1:45 p.m.

We are still county out here. We got re-zipcoded several years ago and now have Cary addresses. We didn't want to be then and don't want to be now! The house wasn't affected that I can see. Please thank Mike for his quick actions, without him it could have been much worse, and I'm glad he's ok!

there was an injury...

Mike Simpson who works with Davenport Landscaping, was mowing an adjacent property, saw/reported the fire and ran up to the building to make sure no one was in there. The blast from the chemical explosion caused some thermal burns and a few scratches from flying debris. He's been treated and is ok.

I know these because I am an employee of Davenport Landscaping.

It's in Wake County tax record as Cary so, it's Cary.

It is in Morrisville's Fire District in unincorporated Wake County

it's all in the Cary want to be area
