Greensboro carnival workers killed, injured in Ferris wheel fall

Greensboro, N.C. — One carnival worker died and another was hospitalized with critical injuries early Monday after they fell from a Ferris wheel at Greensboro Youth Council’s Carnival.

The workers, whose names were not released, were disassembling the ride around 1:50 a.m. when they apparently fell off, according to Greensboro police.

The carnival was held in the parking lot of the Greensboro Coliseum at 1921 W. Lee St.

The Greensboro Police Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. No other information was released.

"It is crazy how these carnivals operate. There is no way disassembling a ride at 1:50 in the a.m. could be safe. The same thing happens at the state fair in October, as soon as the midway closes at midnight they begin to dismantle the rides after being up all day. It is amazing more workers do not get killed. For-Better-Or-Worse "

--> Time is money and money is time.Waste one you waste the other....at least for employment like this.

Rest134 hit the nail on the head...surely there's more important factors to consider here rather than how a headline is worded. Instead of criticizing WRAL for the headline, why not say a prayer for the families of the workers...if all you have time to do is bird dog the writers, maybe you should find something else to do.
