Apex woman dies in wreck

print friendly

A 24-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle wreck in Apex Thursday evening, police Capt. Anne Stephens said.

A preliminary investigation shows that Jessica Meza, of Apex, ran a stop sign at Lake Pine Drive and Old Raleigh Road around 6:30 p.m., Stephens said. Meza's Mazda collided with a truck.

Meza was killed in the wreck. Her husband, 29-year-old Angel Soto, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver and passenger were not injured.

Stephens said that speed was also a factor in the wreck. No charges have been filed.

It is also something that the INNOCENT driver of the other vehicle has to live with for the REST of his life Eduardo1

Not if the driver was NOT at fault. You learn and move on.

comments please.......

The signs and rules are there for a purpose if only we as humans being paid closely attention to them. My condolences to her family and many friends.

there is also no reason why the speed limit needs to be 45 on that road to begin with. too much cross traffic from car dealerships and it is also residental.

People seem to BLOW Stop signs very often, so it becomes more defensive driving. And of course drivers on a regular basis, BLOW through the solid lines indicating to STOP. I can not understand, why a Stop sign is not put in those areas. As an example, in Fuquay Varina, when coming in to the Food Lion Center off of James Slaughter there is a solid white line. Car after car just BLOW through it and usually at a high speed. It is a shame that this young person died as a result of her high speed and failed to stop at the Stop sign. It is also something that the INNOCENT driver of the other vehicle has to live with for the REST of his life
