A dispute sparked a shooting outside a Raleigh restaurant early Sunday in which a man suffered life-threatening injures, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

He said that officers responding a call about a shooting found Tu Hoang Nguyen, 35, outside Cafe Trang, at 3314 Capital Blvd., shortly before 2 a.m. He was taken to WakeMed, where he was listed in critical condition Sunday afternoon.

The suspect – identified as Nhan Thuong Le, 37 – fled the scene but was arrested in an apartment at 1537 Sunbow Falls Lane, Sughrue said.

Le was charged with attempted murder and placed in the Wake County jail without bond.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate the shooting, Sughrue said.

Anyone with information that might help detectives is asked to call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that help solve cases.

Le was convicted of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit in Guilford County in 2007, according to state Department of Correction records.

He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
