A 44-year-old Fayetteville woman and her sons were charged Tuesday with hiding a suspect in the shooting of a jewelry store owner during a robbery last December.

Investigators said that Cornedica Johnson and her sons, 18-year-old Dion and 17-year-old Damon, hid her nephew, 16-year-old Chrishawn "Cub" Johnson. He had been named a suspect in the Dec. 23 robbery and shooting at the Gold Factory on Morganton Road.

Chrishawn Johnson was arrested during a Feb. 3 raid of his aunt's house at 963 Louise Circle. Police said they found nine handguns in the house, including one that had been stolen.

On Tuesday, Cornedica Johnson was charged with harboring a fugitive, and Dion Johnson and Damon Johnson were charged with aiding and abetting harboring a fugitive. All three also face charges of misdemeanor maintaining a dwelling for the use, storage or sale of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Immediately after the raid, the brothers were charged with possession of a stolen firearm and altering or removing a gun serial number.

Chrishawn Johnson and another man, Charles Boone III, 18, face charges of attempted murder and armed robbery in the case. Police are still searching for two unidentified men in the case.

Anyone with information about the other two robbers is asked to call police at 910-433-1851 or Crime Stoppers at 910 483-8477.

However, it doesn't sound to me like she's much better than the suspect. Apple didn't fall far this time. rebecca7
