Durham, N.C. — Duke University has settled a lawsuit involving the cost of a case involving its lacrosse team.
Three former players were suspended from the university after a stripper falsely accused them of rape.
The university wanted its insurance company to pay the settlement with the students. Duke filed a lawsuit when National Union Fire Insurance Company refused to do so.
Duke ended up paying the settlements.
