A Bragg soldier charged in the shooting death of a Fayetteville man has been extradited back to North Carolina, authorities said Thursday.

Brandon Joseph Mims, 20, faces charges of first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle in connection with the Jan. 29 slaying of Michael Ray Staggs, 22.

Police said that Staggs was shot in the head while sitting in a car outside a strip mall at 155 Bonanza Drive.

Mims was name as a suspect in the case on Jan. 31, then caught the next day in Key West, Fla.

He was being processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center late Thursday.

Sounds like brwneyez70 has issues with the Army, you crétin it is not the Armys fault he turned coward and shot someone to death he made that choice not the Army. Lay the blame where it should be on him no one else.

Don't blame anyone but the individual, now thats a great idea. lets see he is 20 years old ='s he is an adult. He went through basic training ='s he had to make right decisions to get through training and school. So he can't plead insanity, sounds like a drug or relationship issue to me. I'm sure we will find out more in this as to why he shot Staggs. Just because he is in the military dosen't mean he learned how to kill someone there. That my friend is something that most are born with, the ability and knowledge to kill. Most only use it as self preservation or protection of others, but others use it for pleasure, fullfillment of desires, rage, jelously, and the list can go on and on and on..

brwneyez70- So it is the Army's fault not the parents? REALLY?! You are a very shallow person!

Blame the US Army-You are insane! They dont train you to murder-they train you to protect. Obviously you are an uneducated person with nothing else to do outside of blame everyone else for your actions. And to you-no contest....you are in the same category as brwnwywz70. Get a life-both of you and make something better.

Y r u blaming his parents? Should your parents be blamed for everything that you have done wrong? Brandon Joseph Mims is the only one to be blamed for this incident! If you want to blame someone besides him, blame the people that taught him to kill. The US ARMY!!!!!!!!!!!!
