Fayetteville woman dies in single-car wreck

Shortly after 11:30 a.m., police responded to Dundle Road near Heatherbrook Drive, where a 2006 BMW had come to rest overturned in a ditch.

The passenger, Barbara Taylor, 49, of Carver Street, died at the scene.

Linda McNeal, 45, of Boniface Court, was driving the car. She was life-flighted to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill to be treated for serious injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges had been filed Monday.
