Rocky Mount police are trying to identify two men involved in a bank robbery Thursday afternoon.

The men entered the First South Bank, at 300 Sunset Ave., around 1:50 p.m., police said. One man stayed in the lobby, while the second gave the teller a note demanding money.

The men took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot through the rear door facing Sunset Avenue, investigators said.

No weapons were used in the robbery, and no one was injured, police said.

One man was described as black, in his 30s to 40s, 5 feet 4 inches tall. He wore a black jacket, blue jeans and purple toboggan.

The second man was described as black, in his 30s to 40s, 5 feet 6 inches tall. He wore a black jacket, t-shirt and dark pants.

Anyone who can identify these men should call Rocky Mount police at 252-972-1411 or contact Crime Stoppers by calling 252-977-1111 or sending an e-mail to crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.

It's odd that these guys are so short. I would check the people who are playing guard on the city league basketball teams.

Par for the course!

@xyzzy, the article stated the robbery took place THURSDAY.

It's 1:30 as I type this, but the article says "The men entered the First South Bank, at 300 Sunset Ave., around 1:50 p.m., police said."

You gotta love Rocky Mount... all the digital cameras and inexpensive HD camera systems out there and that lousy bank still has black and white CCTV???? Based on the quality of the photo, I would also guess they are still using VHS too. LOL.... way to look out for your tellers First South! Looking at those pictures, I would say that the suspect is either Kermit the frog, or Santa Claus... hard to tell.
