Raleigh, N.C. — A fire broke out at a Raleigh business Friday night, prompting an evacuation as precaution due to excessive smoke.
No injuries were reported among the 25 people at the Hi Tech Fabrication plant, 8900 Midway West Road, Raleigh fire officials said.
Fire trucks were dispatched around 10 p.m., and crews put out the fire and cleared the scene in a little more than an hour.
Capt. T. Wilson said that hot metal shavings from a metal grinder ignited and caught the ventilation system on fire.
A small part of the plant sustained mostly smoke damage.
