Accident in Cary parking lot injures two

print friendly

Accidental acceleration led to injuries for two people and a citation for a teen driver in Cary Sunday night, police said.

Michael and Patricia Anderson were standing in the KFC/Taco Bell parking lot at 1011 North Harrison Ave. when Geobanni Tyada, 16, hit their vehicle, which rolled into them, according to Sgt. G. L. Huser.

Huser said the teen tried to hit the brakes but hit the gas instead. He was cited for careless and reckless driving.

The Andersons were taken to WakeMed, and Patricia Anderson was listed in serious condition early Monday. Her husband's condition was not available.

No, not perfect....not by a long shot. But I don't get my bloomers in a wad defending clueless parents who allow these little darlins' to text and drive. Anyhow, where exactly did I say the kid in the article WAS texting? Better keep that raw nerve away from strong acids.....that must sting like the dickens!

Unfortunately due to injuries the police officers had to site the teenager. Most accidents that do not have injuries go without charges. It's funny how texting, etc.. was added, yankee etc.. were added to comments. It just shows how "assuming" our society is. Stop assuming and go with the FACTS! Seems there are still "perfect" people in the world.

Ok, that was mean....I didn't have a cell phone to talk and text on, or a TV to watch, or VIDEO GAMES to play, or any of the gazillion other distractions while driving that the "Pepsi Generation" has to contend with. Please forgive me, I forgot how tough it is to be a teen these days. Oh, the humanity! ;)

6079 SMITH W....u r correct!

Teenagers DON'T start driving until they are almost 18 these days. I started when I was 12, down on the farm.... and I have never yet had an accident. (yeah, I know...those days are LONG gone.) Most of that stems from the fact that I KNEW dad was NOT gonna buy me a new BMW if I wrecked the car I was lucky to have in the first place. ('74 Dart) Also, why can't "Teens" start driving at 16 anymore? Have they devolved somehow? Part of THAT stems from the fact that we don't cut the cord until they are at least 20 now....and still treat them like little children even though they are in college. No wonder it takes so long for the little darlins' to get a clue....it really ain't their fault. ;)
