Arrest made in Raleigh homicide

Officers found Clarence Jamel Blossom, 24, of Raleigh, dead outside a home at 215 Colleton Road shortly before 10 a.m. on Friday. Police have not said what caused Blossom's death.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man has been charged with murder in connection with death of a 24-year-old man, police said Wednesday.

Maahir Sallah Muhammed, 29, faces charges of first-degree murder in the death of Clarence Jamel Blossom, 24, of Raleigh.

Officers found Blossom dead outside a home in the 200 block of Colleton Road last Friday morning.  Police have not commented on the cause of Blossom's death or a possible motive in the case.

Despite Muhammed's arrest, the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Muhammed was placed in the Wake County jail and scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.

State Department of Corrections show that he has a string of drug-related convictions dating from the late 1990s and early 2000s.
