Man found dead in Hoke County ditch

Raeford, N.C. — A Raeford man was found beaten to death in a ditch in Hoke County late Friday, authorities said Monday.

Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin declined to disclose where the body of Ricky Bratcher, 38, was found, noting only that deputies received a tip from an individual about a body in a ditch.

Anyone with information about Bratcher's death is asked to call the Hoke County Sheriff's Office at 910-875-5111.

This use to be such a safe place both in the city and in the county. So much for protect & serve for our local law enforcement. They are more reactive than proactive. More money and toys to play with and less service.
