Fayetteville, N.C. — Fayetteville police have arrested two men believed to have been involved in a series of thefts of catalytic converters.

Joshua Andrew Hodgson, 31, of 4721 Hickory Ridge Road, was charged with felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods and first-degree trespassing. He was being transported to the Cumberland County jail on Friday.

Michael Makowetski, 33, of 1160 Vesper Lane, was charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit felony larceny. He was being held in the Cumberland County jail under a $40,000 bond on Friday.

Earlier this week, police arrested Makowetski, owner of  Mike’s Core and Battery, 119 Drake St., on charges of felony possession of stolen goods.

Police said they recovered about $15,000 in stolen property from his business.

Clark Rodgers, 32, of 6872 Brasswood Drive, and Christopher Zimmer, 31, listed as homeless, also face charges in connection with the crimes. The two are charged with felony larceny, possession of stolen goods and breaking and entering a motor vehicle.

Police found the pair in a van with four stolen converters.

In the course of the investigation, police tracked the men as they sold the stolen catalytic converters to Mike’s Core and Battery.
