A third Wendell woman has been charged with holding at gunpoint and trying to rob a Raleigh man they lured with a Craigslist ad.

Sherie Brooks, 32, of 320 Broughton Road, was arrested Tuesday on charges of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit to armed robbery.

Two sisters, Acqua Bullock, 21, and Sherida Bullock, 28, both of 306 Windy Hill Drive, face the same charges in the June 9 incident.

Investigators with the Wake County Sheriff's Office said that Ibrahima Diouf responded a Craigslist ad and agreed to meet the women to buy six smart phones for $1,100.

Instead, the women allegedly held Diouf at gunpoint and started shooting when he did not give them money. Diouf wasn't hurt, but a bullet hit his car.

Brooks was placed in the Wake County jail under a $75,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance was set for Wednesday morning. Acqua and Sherida Bullock were given separate $125,000 bonds.

Brooks' criminal record dates to 1997 and includes convictions for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm into property and possession of drugs with intent to sell, according to state Department of Correction records.

why was she ever let out of prison with all of those convictions?

I agree, Craigslist isn't the problem!! Certain People just use it for their own selfish means. I've brought things off of CL and have sold things as well. I never invite anyone to my home, where I meet them the places are always public w/ high traffic, never in the city I reside, and my husband is usually with me!! People just need to be more cautious!!

The problem is not Craigslist. Every entity has people who abuse it. You just have to think before you meet anyone you do not know. I have been using Craigslist for years and never had any problems.

Over reacting to one incident has turned this country into a sissfied nanny state. it is obvious jwm32 was educated in our public school systems.

Back in Wild West days, this is why citizens regularily carried weapons - the 'justice' system of the day could not find or keep violent criminals in jail. Perhaps that is good enough reason for concealed carry permits make so much sense now - our 'justice' system cannot find or keep viloent criminals in jail, so we need to protect ourselves - from people like these!

Just execute these women and they won't rip anyone else off. People who have no respect for the property of other people deserve no respect when it comes to paying with their worthless lives for their crimes.
