A Durham man died after being stabbed during a fight late Tuesday, and two other people who were also stabbed were hospitalized, police said.

Police said that two men and a woman got into an argument and then a fight outside in the 1500 block of North Hyde Park Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Tony Montrel Burns, 23, died from his injuries early Wednesday, police said.

The other man and woman remained hospitalized at Duke University Hospital. Their identities weren't released, but police said they were in their mid-30s to 40s.

The investigation was ongoing. No charges have been filed.

Anyone with information is asked to call police investigators at 919-560-4440, extension 29322 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.

Gosh that's such a lovely section of town too.

All of us who live in Durham are aware of where the crime happens. There are a few areas that generally account for 99% of the crime.

It's unfair to think that just by walking through American Tobacco is risking life and death.

Stay away from McDougle Terrace, Oxford Manor and certain parts of Walltown and you will be fine.

What is up with Durham??? Every single day - at least ONE murder, shooting, rape or robbery. Please live and let live!

They took my comments off. WRAL must not enjoy having the truth posted.

STOP JOKING AROUND YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE FAMILY IS GOING THROUGH...IT IS NEITHER FUNNY OR AMUSING FOR SOMEONE TO LOSE A LOVED ONE OR A FRIEND....BE RESPECTFUL...
