DOT fires ferry chief

print friendly

The man hired to get North Carolina's ferries back on track after a federal investigation has been fired.

Harold Finch was brought in to develop a new business plan, create a team atmosphere and analyze operations, but state Department of Transportation officials said not all of that was done.

Finch took the job after the agency's former director, Jerry Gaskill, was convicted of lying to investigators about illegal dredging in Currituck Sound.

While on the job, Finch raised questions about operations, including overtime and purchasing, and the DOT is still investigating some of those issues.

Come on board but don't rock the boat. "we don't need a budget, Raleigh just sends us money and we spend it"

I wonder who he rubbed the wrong way? If you're not part of the good ol' boy network, you don't stand a chance in NC.

Has anyone within the NCDOT'S MANGAMENT OR EXECTIVE MANGAMENT EVER HEAR THE WORD OR KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD INTERGERITY EVIDENTUALY NOT THANK YOU

In my own personal estimation the ncdot certainaly is corrupt from one end to the other an those people that work within this agency department ar as well at the mangament an exective mangament levels an if the rank an file employee fail to go along to get along this is what happens they are terminated over in most cases trumped up issues an wrongful charges are put into their personnel files in order to drive them out of service because they had the nads to speak up an tell the truth. their is an has been political deregulation going on within this agency since the days of the beging of the BUSH & CHENEY ADMINSTRATION for this when the ncdot was sold to the repbulican party an the special instrest if you ask me thank you

N.C. state government is looking much like the old Louisiana government and that is not a nice thing to say. We are in dire need of a major house cleaning I would say.
