Collapsed sewer closes lanes on Cary's Walnut Street

print friendly

A collapsed sewer line reduced traffic to one lane in each direction Friday on Walnut Street near South Walker Street.

Signs were posted to direct drivers around the area, and minor delays were expected through the evening as contractors work to correct the problem.

Construction at the old Cary Elementary School nearby caused the sewer line to collapse, officials said.

The sewer line was expected to be repaired by Friday night, but the lanes were to remain closed until the road could be repaved over the weekend, officials said.

So, that was the smell coming out of the peoples republic today.

dont be such a hater iron fist.

I assume you have a septic tank or an out house near your trailer?

That won't help me get to the church on Sunday. Must remember to take alternate route!

Add that to the approximately 87,528 gallon spill on June 22, 2010 into Walnut Creek. Nice.

I thought that was Durham I smelled...guess not.
