A man who passed a bad check in 2006 managed to avoid authorities until Saturday, when Raleigh police arrived to serve an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Police allege Kenya D. Norwood, 37, of 4709 Dansey Drive in Raleigh, hit an officer in the face and then attempted to run when they tried to arrest him.

He was caught and was taken to Wake County jail on charges of simple, worthless check, assault on a government official and resisting arrest. He was being held on $7,000 secured bond.

Wonder if he's like a lot of these people who are getting picked up on old charges that were supposed to be disposed of because the court has a new computer system...which means more jail, more bail, more fees, loss of job, back to square one...all without any apology...so much for paying one's dues...it's never over.

Nice, so instead of just taking the few days/weeks of jail or probation he WAS going to get, now he's going to have to spend more time for assaulting an officer. Thumbs up sir!
