Hospira recalls drugs made at N.C. facilities

e-mail print friendly

Hospira officials said this weekend that the company has recalled two drugs made at North Carolina facilities.

The drugs, Propofol and Liposyn, were contaminated after an equipment failure, officials said. Federal regulators found the problems earlier this month at the Clayton and Rocky Mount plants.

Hospira officials said the company is still manufacturing the drugs at the Clayton facility and are waiting for approval from the Food and Drug Administration before further shipments.

Should that surprise anybody. I've heard from someone who works in the Rocky Mount plant just how old and problem-laden the equipment is. And thats from a supervisor on the line.
