Morrisville, N.C. — Delta Airlines announced Thursday that it will again offer nonstop service between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Los Angeles.
The flights will operate Sunday through Friday, beginning June 10, on 148-seat Airbus 320 jets.
“RDU is very excited to welcome back service to Los Angeles,” the airport's director of marketing, Teresa Damiano, said in a statement. “L.A. is a major metropolitan city with which our region has strong business and leisure ties, which is evidenced by the more than 250,000 people who travel between L.A. and the Research Triangle region each year.”
Delta offered service to Los Angeles from June 2006 through January 2008 but dropped the flight because of escalating fuel costs and schedule changes.
