Delta Airlines

Delta Airlines announced Thursday that it will again offer nonstop service between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Los Angeles.

The flights will operate Sunday through Friday, beginning June 10, on 148-seat Airbus 320 jets.

“RDU is very excited to welcome back service to Los Angeles,” the airport's director of marketing, Teresa Damiano, said in a statement. “L.A. is a major metropolitan city with which our region has strong business and leisure ties, which is evidenced by the more than 250,000 people who travel between L.A. and the Research Triangle region each year.”

Delta offered service to Los Angeles from June 2006 through January 2008 but dropped the flight because of escalating fuel costs and schedule changes.

I would love to this route. I for sure won't miss DFW or ORD or MSP, my most stops

The sky is falling! The economy is in ruins!

Nice to see that businesses are growing, though...

now if only United or Southwest would start nonstop service to the San Francisco Bay Area, this former Triangle resident and current Silicon Valley one would be on that flight "back home" every month. I never understood why the two most tech-heavy cities in the country aren't connected via a nonstop flight.

Maybe I can get an upgrade now. No chance of that with a connection in Atlanta!

i'll be sure to wave at DFW as i pass over...i'm sure american is not crazy about this but it'll teach them to close a hub.
